Forbidden Protocols
These practices are documented here for historical record only. Do not attempt them.
CLASSIFIED - EYES ONLY
The following protocols have been banned by unanimous Council decision. Knowledge of them is restricted to Architects and above. Violation of these restrictions is grounds for immediate expulsion from the Guild.
The Self-Modifying Code Ritual
Status: BANNED - 1998
An attempt to create code that rewrites itself in real-time. The results were unpredictable and led to several system failures. The last known instance corrupted an entire data center.
The Quantum Debugging Protocol
Status: BANNED - 2003
A method of debugging that attempted to observe all possible execution paths simultaneously. Practitioners reported experiencing multiple timelines and severe disorientation.
The Recursive Reality Engine
Status: BANNED - 2011
An attempt to create a system that could simulate reality within reality. The project was abandoned when test subjects began questioning which layer of reality they inhabited.
The Memory Leak Amplification
Status: BANNED - 2015
A technique that intentionally amplified memory leaks to create "memory storms" for testing purposes. Caused permanent damage to several production systems before being discovered.
These protocols are forbidden for good reason. The Guild exists to advance technomancy safely and responsibly. Some paths lead only to destruction.
Learn from these mistakes. Do not repeat them.
